Yu-Gi-Oh. Kids are still playing.

2/18/2006

Yu-Gi-Oh came onto the scene in America in 2001. Almost 5 years later, this trading card game is still being played.

You can see why children like Yu-Gi-Oh. He is a delicate and childish boy who becomes a hero when he is playing the card game that he and his Grandpa are so passionate about. Yu-Gi-Oh sends out a positive message about friendships and believing in yourself. Kids that are still playing this game are very much in tune with the way YuGi plays. They know all the strategies and how to apply all the lessons taught by Yu-Gi-Oh and his friends. One lesson when it comes to sportsmanship is to play fair and by the rules. That’s what Yu-Gi-Oh does.

Where would you see children playing this card game? It could be at home with their friends. Or, on the playground at school. Let’s just say these kids that are totally into this game and will play it at anytime, with anyone who has a deck on hand and is ready to duel. It won’t be hard to spot out the kid/kids, who might have a deck with them. They might be wearing their favorite Yu-Gi-Oh shirt or deck holder around their neck.

These die hard fans of the Y-Gi-Oh trading card game love to attend the tournaments. The mall is a classic place for them to be hosted at. The tournaments cater to all levels of each indivual player. For the ones just learning to play and the ones who think they have mastered it. These kids will enjoy the whole experience of dueling with other kids from different places. Parents even get in on the action as they watch their child/children dueling.

So many fads and trends have come and gone. Yu-Gi-Oh is still going strong. He is close to being in the last season of the cartoon series. Even when the show is over, Children are still going to be dedicated to their favorite duel master. Will there be another show like Yu-Gi-Oh? Can another trading card game compare to this one? It’s still real early in the year, but with the popularity of Yu-Gi-Oh still continuing to hold its place with all the fans across the nation, it will be a tough one to beat.
