Hey Yugioh fans, get ready for a new Yugioh adventure, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Now Yugioh fans will have two options later this fall. Not only can they watch Season 5 of Yugioh on Kids' WB, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX will be starting in October on Cartoon Network. This is the first time in childrens' television that two series based on the same franchise will air on two different networks.
Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of 4Kids Entertainment, the company that created and markets Yugioh, says, "We're extremely excited to begin the next chapter in the wonderful world of Yu-Gi-Oh! Yu-Gi-Oh! GX will bring a new, brighter look that should resonate with the younger viewers. It's a great extension for the franchise and we're confident that fans of the original series will fall in love with GX as much as first time viewers will."
Terry Kalagian, vice president of acquisitions and co-productions for Cartoon Network says, "We think Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is an awesome new series. Yu-Gi-Oh! has been a top-rated series on our air and we are excited to have GX premiere on Cartoon Network."
According to the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX official site, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX takes place "a generation in the future, in a land inaccessible to the rest of the world, is the premiere dueling high school Duel Academy! This special boarding school educates promising young duelists to achieve their full potential. However, little do people realize that one of the greatest duelists of all time is about to arrive in the incoming class."
